Art classes
I teach oil, watercolour and gouache painting — private and group classes, in person at four locations in Hampshire (Southampton, Hamble, Brockenhurst, Swanwick). I work with adults and children alike, from a six-year-old just starting out to a wonderful 92-year-old student, and I teach in English, Ukrainian and Russian.
In private classes, I help students develop their artistic eye and pick up practical skills, so that what they imagine finds its way onto the page. Classes for children are built to protect that first spark of curiosity rather than rush it. I teach group and one-to-one art classes in person at four locations in Hampshire (Southampton, Hamble, Brockenhurst, Swanwick).

Message on WhatsAppI recently ran my first watercolour course for a group of British students — six sessions covering a range of techniques and subjects, from soft landscapes to still life and looser, more experimental work. But the course wasn't just about technique. It was about slowing down. Letting go of control. Trusting the water. Letting creativity happen on its own.
Some of the group had never painted before; others hadn't picked up a brush in years — and yet every session produced honest, beautiful work. People opened up, relaxed, and surprised themselves. That, to me, is the real result.

Painting that heals
Therapeutic art
I completed a long training course and hold a Certificate in Art Therapy Skills (for work with children and young people) from the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education in London (May 2026). It was a demanding and meaningful experience, both professionally and personally — lectures, practical workshops, and a great deal of learning through art itself.
That training changed how I think about creativity and painting. I'm more convinced than ever that art isn't only about beauty and skill — it's a powerful tool for support, self-expression, recovery and connection with yourself. Running my own therapeutic art sessions here in England, I see how well this works, and I get warm feedback from participants.

Southampton & Hampshire
Where lessons take place
Over the past two years I've run more than 100 painting sessions in Southampton. Week after week, we've explored different techniques and styles in private and group classes — but what mattered most was creating a space where people felt safe, supported and inspired.
For many participants, painting became more than a hobby — a way to work through emotion, reconnect with themselves, and find some steadiness after everything they had been through over the previous three years. I'm deeply grateful to Southampton City Council and SeaCity Museum for making this project possible.
